Locals Trot to San Francisco for Bay to Breakers
A group of folks from Capitola, Soquel and Aptos ran the race on Sunday.
Sunday's Zazzle Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco brought runners from all over the world to Northern California.
The 2012 winner, Sammy Kitwara of Kenya, ran the 12K through the city in just 34 minutes and 41 seconds. The event drew a total of 23,067 registered racers, although many of the crowd see the day as more of an event than a race.
The chart below shows all ten racers from Capitola, Soquel and Aptos who finished in the top 50 percent. Congratulations to all our local racers who completed the 12K, and a big shout out to Dent Earl of Aptos and Shelby Rush of Capitola, who finished in the top four percent!
