Doctor Impostor Robs Nurses at Dominican Hospital

Nurses were robbed of nearly $4,000 on Wednesday by a woman posing as a doctor in a lab coat.

Sheriff's deputies are on the hunt for a woman pretending to be a doctor who stole nearly $4,000 from Dominican Hospital nurses on Wednesday.

At about 12:30 p.m., the suspect entered the hospital wearing a white lab coat and a stethoscope draped around her neck and made her way into a secure area, Deputy April Skalland said.

Inside she stole credit cards from three female nurses and then charged over $4,000 to the cards at local electronics stores.

No arrests have been made and thus far, the suspect is only being described as a black female. But investigators are looking over hospital surveillance footage as well as security tapes from the stores where the money was spent. According to Skalland, if the video could be useful, it will be released to the public.

Anyone with information on the incident is encouraged to call the Sheriff's Office at 831-471-1121.
