Capitola Homicide Hearing Pushed Back

Marcos Chavez's day in court will come a month later than expected.

The wait continues for progress in the case of the homicide of Ronald "Aaron" Carpenter, the 36-year-old man who was .

Marcos Chavez, 23, who is accused of the homicide, was , but Assistant District Attorney Celia Rowland has told Capitola-Soquel Patch that the court date has been pushed back to May 21. The continuation of the hearing comes after a judge determined that the public defender's office had a conflict of interest in the case. Tom Wallraff is now representing Chavez.
