According ot the Register-Pajaronian, the rash of slashed tires coincided with another strange incident. At 6:30 a.m. Sunday, two men were seen on the side of Highway 1 near Orchard Street. "One of them heaved a large river rock straight through the windshield of a northbound vehicle traveling about 60 mph. The rock sailed through the white Chrysler and nearly crashed out the rear window," the Pajaronian reported.

Skalland said it's not clear if the two incidents are related, but a connection is being investigated.
