Record temperatures have been predicted for the end of the week all over the Bay Area, particularly in Contra Costa County, Santa Clara County and Marin County.
But even down here in Santa Cruz County, serious heat is on the way.
WeatherBug is predicting highs of 85 and 80 degrees on Thursday and Friday in Capitola with lows at 55 and 48, respectively.
According to Accuweather, the historical average high for May 2 and 3 in Capitola is 71 degrees.
Hot weather does bring risk of wildfire, especially in mountainous areas.
