Earthquake Recap: Three Small Shakes in County Area

There was a trio of earthquakes near Santa Cruz County this week.

Three small earthquakes made waves on the Richter scale in Santa Cruz County this week, the largest hitting with a magnitudes of just 1.6.

Generally, earthquakes that fail to break the 2-mark on the scale are difficult to feel far from the epicenter. As of Saturday evening, no one reported feeling either of the quakes on the U.S. Geological Survey website. The closest earthquake that anyone reported feeling this week was a 1.9 that hit five miles SSE of Hollister.
