Target Hiring 300 Locals at Job Fair

The major addition to the Capitola Mall is hiring over the next few days.

While California is near the top of the nation in unemployment, a national chain is set to make a dent in the local out-of-work population this week.

and the retail giant is looking for 300 new employees, many of which will come from its May 17-19 job fair at the . The three-day event will run from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. daily. 

"Hundreds of prospective candidates will attend the public event to apply and interview for open team member positions available in all areas of the new store," Target Communications said in a prepared statement. "During the event, store leaders will review applications, conduct interviews and discuss Target’s dynamic, team-oriented culture."

Target is encouraging interested people to apply online at target.com/careers before showing up in person.

According to a KION report, "all applicants must be registered and have a current resume in CalJOBS," and "must possess a membership card for the Workforce Santa Cruz Career Centers." That form can be filled out online at http://workforcescc.com or in person at any of the county career centers.
