Man Who Quit Money Coming to Capitola

The man who stopped using money in 2000 will be speaking at the Capitola Book Cafe on May 9.

It's been 12 years since Daniel Suelo spent a dime of his own. It took over a decade for his new lifestyle to earn huge recognition, but now his story is rolling across the world like a bowling ball on a well-greased lane.

In the year 2000, Suelo made the decision to go off the grid. Since then he has lived in caves in the Utah Canyonlands, eating the wild vegetation and dead animals as well as any meals that friends bring him.

He now leads a life, according to the Penguin Publishing Group, of "freely giving and freely receiving."
