Can't Miss: Taste of Soquel This Saturday

Here's what's happening in and around Capitola and Soquel this weekend.

It's officially fall, but that doesn't mean the summer-like fun stops in Capitola and Soquel.

  • Have A Taste of Soquel. The Fifth Annual A Taste of Soquel promises to be a fun-filled day of food and music for the common good. The Congregational Church of  Soquel and the Capitola/Soquel Chamber of Commerce are co-sponsoring this event to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. It's 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Congregational Church of Soquel, 4951 Soquel Drive in Soquel. Get tickets at the church or online at brownpapertickets.com.
  • See a local documentary. Imagine Supported Living Services is hosting its
2nd annual short film festival and fundraiser 6:30-930 p.m. Saturday at the Museum of Art and History at 705 Front St. in Santa Cruz. There will be 14 short films from community members that are by, about, with or connected to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • If you're feeling fall's in the air, stop by the Tyrolean Inn in Ben Lomond for Oktoberfest this weekend. Get out your lederhosen or dirndl. There will be live music, scrumptious food, and as always, plenty of cold German Beer on tap all weekend. There also are kids' activities, including face painting and a bounce house. • FashionART Santa Cruz is a showcase of designers Saturday evening at the Civic Auditorium in Santa Cruz.
