In Case We've All Forgotten What Winter Normally Looks Like...

In case we've all forgotten what the weather should look this time of year in Santa Cruz County, I thought I'd share a few photos as a reminder.

The first two photos are from last week after sunset. Both were taken at the Walton Lighthouse at Twin Lakes State Beach and Santa Cruz Harbor. There were just a few light clouds around that night, which seems to be the new status quo these days.

The third photo is also from Twin Lakes, but this was taken in 2011 in between storms. This is a very different view compared to the weather we've experienced this winter.

The last photo is from West Cliff Dr. in 2012. It looked as though Rocky the Flying Squirrel was coming in on that storm.

Just adding a side note about the photos of the lighthouse from last week. This was unknown to me at the time, but there was a portrait session happening to the left of the lighthouse as I took those, which makes these photos extra interesting. I'm not sure if that would be happening normally this time of year with the storms, but you never know.

Remember storm clouds? Remember rain? It seems like such a distant memory.
