In 2010, McGehee's most successful season, he hit .285 with 23 home runs and 104 RBI. Since then his numbers have spiraled downward. For the season, he is hitting a sub-par .229 with eight home runs and 36 RBI. But he should get his chances in the Bronx. In two games with the Yankees so far, he has scored three times on one hit and two walks.

As notable as his new pinstriped uniform is his clean-shaven face. For much of his Major League career, McGehee has sported a thick goatee (see photo above), sometimes a full beard. But conforming with Yankee policy, his arrival in New York coincided with a Mr. Clean mimicking shorn face to match his already-shiny scalp.
