The Santa Cruz Parent Education Nursery School (SCPEN) will be offering an open house for prospective new enrollees on Sun., Dec. 8.
Held at 411 Roxas Street in Santa Cruz, parents will be able to tour toddler and preschool classes from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and meet current teachers and parents of enrolled students.
There will also be activities for parents and children alike. They will be able to make ornaments, play the dreidel game -- a popular Hannukah activity -- and enjoy special Holiday stories, puppets and songs.
Open for 37 years, SCPEN is a parent cooperative preschool staffed by credentialed teachers. Parents are also involved in running the school.
“Parents share resources, build friendships, grow a deep sense of community and learn to advocate for their children while gaining an understanding of their child’s development and enhancing their parenting skills,” said Winona Holmes, SCPEN marketing coordinator, in a press release.
