Speak Up Capitola: How Should 41st Avenue Be Redecorated?

The city of Capitola has proposed a $200K art project spanning half a mile of 41st Avenue.

The city of Capitola is going ahead with its biggest art project ever, a $200,000 endeavor meant to make over 41st Avenue from Jade Street to Gross Road.

The indistinguishable strip of street is so anti-Capitola in its anonymity that the city is willing to invest the money to make the area match the charm of the Village.

"The project is intended to enhance the experience of visitors along this busy shopping thoroughfare, to create a stronger visual identity and instill some elements of visual continuity through the district for the benefit of pedestrians, cyclists and those in vehicles," a prepared statement from the Capitola Art & Culture Commission said.
