Rent Control Vote Postponed Until Sept. 8

The Capitola City Council will not vote on rent control for another two weeks.

Editor's note: This story was written while the council meeting was in session.

At the beginning of Thursday's Capitola City Council meeting, Councilman Michael Termini moved to postpone the vote that would potentially repeal rent control, as Councilwoman Stephanie Harlan is not in attendance.

Mayor Dennis Norton seconded the motion, and the vote will now take place at the next meeting on Sept. 8.

The postponement may actually be good news for residents of Surf and Sand Mobile Home Park, as during the council meeting two weeks ago, Harlan was the only vote in favor of .
