Council to Consider Dogs on Capitola Beach Thursday

The day has finally come for canines in Capitola.

Will Capitola go to the dogs? Resolving that question will be the main objective of Thursday's meeting of the Capitola City Council.

Mayor Mike Termini mentioned the idea in his Patch blog on Monday. See that entry . Anyone with a strong opinion either way is encourage to come out to the meeting and be heard.

Since dogs were outlawed on the beach, very few actual citations have been written, according to the Capitola Police Department. Instead, they take an educational approach, offering warnings, as the vast majority of law breakers are tourists unaware of the rules.
