City Council Preview: Mobile Home Park Rental Assistance on the Table

A variety of issues will be discussed at tonight's City Council meeting.

Tonight's Capitola City Council meeting is set to cover a number of issues, including leftover flood grievances, which last week were all denied and passed on to the city's liability insurance carrier.

Here are the expected highlights from the meeting:

• The council plans to deny flood-related claims totalling $83,404.55. The same occurred last week with little fanfare from residents in attendance.

• An amount totaling $56,000 is set to be approved to go toward the improvement of police department heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.

• The Wharf to Wharf Race's request for an event permit will be officially approved.

• A hearing will be set to appeal the denial of a take-out window at Mr. Kebab on the Esplanade.

• A public hearing will be held to consider mobile home park rental assistance. 

• A public hearing will be held to consider appealing a denial by the Planning Commission for the permit of a dialysis clinic at 3801 Clares St.
