City Council Preview: Judgment Day for Rent Control—Maybe

Update 12:16 p.m. Thursday: There are rumblings afoot that the vote on rent control could be postponed yet again. Stay tuned.

Original Report: Two weeks ago, the were prepped to hear the fate of their residence, until the absence of a council member .

Now that day has finally arrived, and unless something unexpected comes up once again, the packed council chambers at City Hall should be the nucleus of heated debate at 7 p.m.

• The Capitola Public Safety & Community Service Foundation will do a raffle drawing to select the winner of a Costa Rica trip as well as cash prizes.
• Mayor Dennis Norton will proclaim Sept. 16 "Santa Cruz Follies Day."
• Michael Termini will appoint a new member to fill the vacancy on the .
• The public hearing on the Ordinance Repealing Capitola Municipal Code Chapter 2.18 pertaining to Mobile Home Park Rent Stabilization will likely be completed.
