"He heard one of them yell something derogatory at him, then he was struck in the face twice," Sheriff's Deputy April Skalland told Capitola-Soquel Patch.

When the attackers learned that police were on the way, they fled the scene in cars. Although the victim named the suspects, Skalland said authorities were unable to find anyone matching their supposed identity.

Unlike the late January incident, Saturday's battery "does not sound gang related," according to Skalland.
