Witnesses Uncooperative in Soquel Homicide Case

Investigators are still actively working to solve the homicide case that erupted last week in the Soquel Hills. 

Jeff Smith, 28, of Soquel, was . He was shot in the driveway of the home owned by his wife's mother.

According to Sheriff's Deputy April Skalland, the coroner determined that Smith died of a single gunshot. 

"We're working to to contact other witnesses, but some witnesses are being less than cooperative," Skalland said. 

Despite witness struggles, Skalland said the Sheriff's Office is optimistic that investigators are working toward an arrest.
