Thousands in Gold and Cash Taken from Aptos Home
The thief entered through an unlocked front window.
An Aptos home was burglarized over the weekend, with $1,900 in cash and $5,000 in gold jewelry stolen.
On Saturday, March 30, a woman reported to police that sometime between 12 and 2:30 p.m. Friday, someone entered the house on the 2800 block of Estates Drive next to Cabrillo College through an unlocked front window and stole the items, Deputy April Skalland said.
The woman's daughter noticed the missing money from her wallet in her desk drawer, but other than that and the missing jewelry, the house was in perfect order. According to Skalland, the home was not ransacked and nothing looked suspicious to the residents until the money was found missing.
