Teenager Crashes Volkswagen into Soquel House

An 18-year-old driver and a 14-year-old passenger collided with a home on Monday afternoon.

An 18-year-old driver lost control of a Volkswagen, crashing into the house at 4967 Bridge St. in Soquel at 3:51 p.m. Monday afternoon.

"There was minor damage to the home, minor damage to the vehicle and no injuries," Central Fire spokesman Mike DeMars said.

There were two people in the home at the time of impact. They were also uninjured.

"Everybody denies injuries. Everybody signed paperwork," DeMars said.

The only minor clerical complication in the matter occurred when the 14-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen refused further medical attention, requiring his parents to sign a release.

There was no alcohol involved, no road closures, and as of 5:07 p.m. the scene had been cleared.
