Steam Room Fall Lands Man in Hospital

A bloody tumble at Spa Fitness ended with one injured man at Dominican Hospital.

A man using the steam room at on 41st Avenue in Capitola fell and hit his head Wednesday just before noon.

He was bleeding from the head and disoriented when emergency personnel arrived, Central Fire Spokesman Mike DeMars said.

The man, estimated to be between 45 and 50, was taken to Dominican Hospital for observation due to his wound and disorientation. He did not lose consciousness and DeMars did not believe the fall was bad enough to cause a concussion.
