Truck Abandoned after Crash in Soquel

Two people walked away after crashing their truck 200 feet down an embankment Tuesday night.

When a white pick-up truck was reported sitting 200 feet down an embankment near Tola Ranch Road and Glen Haven Road in Soquel at 7:48 a.m. Wednesday, emergency crews were prepped for a rescue. 

But upon their arrival after rapelling down to the crash site, all they found was an empty Ford. 

"A passerby said the truck crashed at about 8 p.m. last night," Central Fire Spokesman Mike DeMars told Patch. "There were two guys in it and they left the truck there. There were no injuries reported from Dominican Hospital."

Since the victims of the crash abandoned the vehicle without calling 911, Central Fire has no information on who they are or the circumstances that caused the crash.

"It sounds like they got a little crazy, ran off the road, walked away and left it there until morning," DeMars said.

The truck is set to be towed and impounded.
