Silver Tacoma on the Run After Road Rage Battery Incident on Soquel Drive

Local law enforcement is looking for one of two vehicles involved in a road rage battery incident on Cabrillo College Drive.

At 9:39 a.m. Thursday, the Santa Cruz Sheriff's Department and California Highway Patrol responded to a road rage incident between the drivers of a Toyota Tacoma and a motorcycle on Soquel and Cabrillo College drives.

The motorists were headed south on Soquel Drive and were stopped at a red light when some sort of a physical fight occurred. No serious injuries were reported.

"The subject on the motorcycle stopped and was contacted by law enforcement," said sheriff's Sgt. Ramos. "He was interviewed and released."

The driver of the pickup, however, sped away and has not yet been found.

Ramos said the event is being called "a road rage incident that escalated into a battery."

It is not known if the driver of the Tacoma got out of his truck to fight. The investigation to find the driver and hash out details is ongoing.
