Shooting Reported on Clubhouse Drive in Aptos

Watsonville police later arrested the suspected gunman.





A gunman in a vehicle shot at another car in Aptos on Wednesday night and at least one stray bullet struck a home, the Sheriff's Office reported.

A Watsonville man was later arrested for the shooting, authorities said. 

Francisco Rocha was picked with assistance from the Watsonville Police Department.

Deputy Ryan Kennedy reported the shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. on Clubhouse Drive. The man who was fired upon was not struck, but a bullet hit a nearby home where residents were home. No one was hurt. However, a bullet passed two feet from a 10-year-old girl in the home. 

The man who was shot at gave deputies a description of the shooter's vehicle. Rocha reportedly had a pistol on him when he was arrested, Kennedy said.
