Update: Report of Car Thieves Leads to Drug Arrests

The bust happened Monday morning in Soquel.

Two 21-year-old men were arrested Monday morning on Soquel Drive near Rodeo Gulch when a California Highway Patrol officer was called to investigate a possible car theft in progress, the CHP reported.

CHP officer Sam Courtney detained Nicholas Colby Salvia of Soquel and Brian Plympton of Aptos. Silvia was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs for sale, possessing drug paraphernalia and drug possession. Plympton allegedly had cocaine. Both men were jailed, according to the CHP.

After more review, Salvia was also booked on suspicion possessing a stolen vehicle, CHP officer Brad Sadek reported.
