Use of a controlled substance: A male was arrested on the 1700 block of 46th Avenue at 5:25 p.m.
Assault: Esplanade, 12:42 a.m.

Petty Theft: A man was arrested after stealing a bicycle from outside of a business on the 3000 block of Portola Drive at 12 a.m.
August 3:

Commercial Burglary: A man was arrested after he was spotted leaving Best Buy in Soquel with stolen items at 11:23 a.m. He got into his car and was attempting to drive away when a sheriff's deputy stopped him and arrested him.
Public Intoxication: 4700 block, Clares Street, 2:42 a.m.
Vandalism: A woman had her car keyed in the parking lot of Bay Federal Credit Union at 5:30 p.m.
August 2:
Counterfeiting: Two counterfeit $100 bills were used on the 3500 block of Clares Street at 4:11 p.m.
Petty Theft: A male was cited on the 1800 block of 41st Avenue at 1:39 p.m.
Vehicle Burglary: Items were stolen from a locked vehicle on 41st Avenue at 3:40 a.m.
August 1:
Public Intoxication: A man was arrested for being drunk at Safeway in Soquel at 12 a.m.
Possession of Controlled Substance Paraphernalia: 1600 block, 41st Avenue, 6:18 p.m.
July 31:
Grand Theft — Firearm: A firearm was stolen on the 1200 block of Dazzle Lane at 8:38 p.m.
Vehicle Theft: 700 block, Hill Street, 7:40 p.m.
Petty Theft: 800 block, Balboa Avenue, 9 p.m.
July 30:
Battery/Petty Theft: A taxi driver was assaulted and left unpaid on the 1600 block of 41st Avenue at 12:10 a.m.
Hit and Run with Property Damage: 1900 block, 41st Avenue, 9 p.m.
DUI: Capitola Avenue and Bay Avenue, 12:49 p.m.
DUI: 800 block, Bay Avenue, 8:35 p.m.
