It's been over a week since Capitola and Santa Cruz Deputy City Attorney , although she was only identified by Hawaiian officials on Tuesday.
In the days since her identification, neighbors and friends have traveled to Cassman's Seabright Avenue home to decorate her doorstep with candles, flowers and chalk messages.
To her friends, Cassman was known as Dove, as can be seen in a photo above.
Capitola Mayor Dennis Norton called Cassman a "wonderful woman" and "dedicated person" at the Sept. 8 city council meeting.
