Motorcyclist Caught with Cocaine and Meth Behind Capitola Mall

The motorist was initially pulled over for talking on his cell phone.

With April being cops all over Santa Cruz County are on the hunt for motorists using cell phones. 

So when Adrian Yanze-Garcia was riding his motorcycle on Clares Street behind the Capitola Mall on April 6 while talking on his cell phone, CHP Officer Monahan pulled him over.

But the traffic stop became far from routine when Officer Monahan found multiple bags of cocaine and methamphetamine in Garcia's pockets.

Garcia was arrested on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale and transportation of a controlled substance, Officer Bradley Sadek said.

According to CHP reports, Garcia was held on $5,000 bail, which he posted on April 7.
