Homicide Informational Meeting Canceled by Apartment Complex

Emerald Bay has called off Wednesday's meeting.

Although plans have been in motion for a , those proceedings have been scrapped, according to Sheriff's Deputy April Skalland.

The Santa Cruz Sheriff's Department had planned to inform residents of the apartment building and its surrounding neighborhood about the , and how to maintain safety in the future. However, those in charge at Emerald Bay have informed Skalland and company that they no longer wish to host the meeting. There are no plans to reschedule.

The meeting was set to include a translator for the Spanish speaking population that occupies much of the apartment complex.

Representatives of Emerald Bay have not responded to Patch's inquiry as to why they canceled the meeting.

The Sheriff's Office has released of shooting victim Nathan Connally and an unidentified individual at the apartments minutes before the shooting occurred in hopes that someone can identify the mystery man.
