Gilroy Woman Leads 100 MPH Chase on Hwy 1

Erica Faulkner led police on a super-speed chase south of Santa Cruz Saturday night.

Gilroy's Erica Faulkner livened the night for several Santa Cruz CHP officers on Saturday when she led them on a 16-mile chase at speeds over 100 MPH, the Santa Cruz Sentinel is reporting.

Faulkner was first reported to be driving erratically by another driver just south of Aptos near Buena Vista Drive. 

Three patrol cars tailed her for the length of the southward chase (some of which occurred on the wrong side of the highway) before she suddenly surrendered, according to the Sentinel.

Faulkner was arrested for reckless driving and driving the wrong way on the highway at 10:30 p.m.
