Gift Card Scam Plagues Santa Cruz County

Be careful when buying and using gift cards. Many have been tampered with.

Over the last two weeks, a number of gift cards purchased locally have been tampered with, rendering them useless.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office created the above PSA to show residents how to avoid being scammed by gift cards.
