Dog Brawl Sparks Roommate Rumble in Soquel Hills

A pair of tenants had it out over the weekend.

The Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office is investigating a battery that occured on Saturday at 2 p.m., when a pair of co-tenants started fighting after their dogs had a dispute of their own.

The two men live on a property on Nicasio Way in the Soquel Hills, one in a trailer and one in the main house, Sgt. Steve Carney told Capitola-Soquel Patch.

The trailer tenant brought home a new dog on Saturday. When the main house tenant arrived home that afternoon with his own dog, the canines started fighting, "which triggered one of the guys to get mad and start beating up the other," Carney said.

The instigator of the fight is thought to be the main house tenant, Carney said.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the victim was punched three times in the face, causing swelling and bleeding from his right eye, nose and lip.
