Déjà Vu: Vehicle Crashes into House

Drivers in Santa Cruz County are having a hard time staying on the road this week.

For the second time in four days, a local driver has plowed into a house.

Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, an Aptos woman lost control of her car as she pulled into her garage on Zils Road. The vehicle went through the wall and straight into her laundry room.

According to dispatchers, she was not hurt, but reported smoke coming from her vehicle. She also knocked a water heater over, and although she didn't report smelling gas, because it is a gas heater, she stayed outside away from the wreckage, dispatchers said.

Emergency personnel from Aptos/La Selva Fire Protection District went to the scene to assess the damage.

He had two babies in the backseat of the car, both uninjured. He was charged with DUI and reckless driving.
