A 55-year-old man who severely cut his leg with a chainsaw while working on a landscaping job in Aptos Wednesday was airlifted to a trauma center, fire officials said.
The accident was reported in the 2700 block of Mar Vista Drive, Aptos/La Selva fire Division Chief Mike Conrad told Patch.
Medics stabilized the victim, then drove him to Seacliff State Beach for transfer to a helicopter waiting in the upper parking lot, Conrad said.
He was airlifted to Regional Medical Center, Conrad told Patch.
The cut was more than 6 inches long and "pretty deep," Conrad said, though he was not sure if the wound went to the bone.
