Capitola PD Announces Begonia Festival Traffic Rules

Find out which roads will be closed and where parking will be enforced during the Begonia Festival.

Due to the , the Capitola Police Department has issued the following parking and traffic rules through Sunday, Sept. 2.  

  • Neighborhood permit parking enforcement will be suspended for Saturday and Sunday, Sept 1st and 2nd, 2012
  • No streets will be closed Saturday evening, September 1st, 2012

The following streets will be closed by barricade at approximately 12 p.m. and remain closed to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the Nautical Parade on Sunday:

  • Stockton Bridge will be closed from 2 - 4 p.m. for the parade. 
  • Stockton Avenue at Wharf Road – All traffic will be routed north up Wharf Road or west on Cliff Drive.
  • Stockton Avenue at Riverview Avenue – All traffic will be routed east on Stockton Avenue.
  • Stockton Avenue at Capitola Avenue – All traffic will be routed north or south on Capitola Avenue.
  • Esplanade – Traffic on Esplanade will be accessible via San Jose Avenue only.
  • A “No Left Turn” sign will be placed on Monterey Avenue at Capitola Avenue to prevent left turns onto Capitola Avenue.
