Capitola Fire Station Celebrates Return with Open House

Everyone is invited to Station No. 4 on Wednesday night.

It took after , but Capitola's Fire Station No. 4, occupied by the Central Fire District, re-opened Aug. 11 and will be the setting of a public open house Wednesday evening to celebrate.

Firefighters were relocated from the Capitola Avenue station to Live Oak while the cleaning and remodeling was being done.

According to an official statement from Central Fire, "the Station 4 crew had still been responding to emergencies in the Capitola area during this time, with a slight increase in their response time but no decrease in service."

The open house will be from 5-7 p.m. with free tours from Central Fire staff as well as refreshments.

The station is at 405 Capitola Ave. across the street from City Hall.
