Capitola Bank Robber Surrenders in San Francisco

Alex Ryan Wells is suspected of multiple bank robberies.

The 25-year-old suspect of two Santa Cruz County bank robberies was arrested on Sunday, KSBW is reporting.

Alex Ryan Wells, who the Santa Cruz Police Department named as the suspect, was wanted for and a . He was then named as a .

Each robbery was similar in that the suspect handed the teller a threatening note and fled with cash. In each incident, he never showed a weapon.

According to the Mercury News, Wells turned himself in just before 7 p.m. on Sunday. Santa Cruz Police spokesman Zach Friend told Patch that San Jose police escorted him to Santa Clara County Jail, where his bail is set at $300,000.

As for the on April 11, Sgt. Steve Carney told Patch on Monday that leads are still being investigated, but that no arrests have been made.
