Boxer Stolen from Animal Shelter

The Live Oak facility faces $1500 in repairs with the fence broken and the dog missing.

The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter head count came up one dog short over the weekend, when it was discovered that a Boxer had been stolen at 6 p.m. on Friday.

The black chain link fence on the north side of the Live Oak facility was cut open, and the lock on a one-year-old dog's kennel was severed, Sheriff's Deputy April Skalland said.

The Boxer is tan and white, 65 pounds and answers to the name Ranger.
