Bloody Man Spotted Outside Office on Bay Avenue

He was stabbed; police are looking for the suspect.

A man covered in blood and saying he'd been stabbed was found outside a Capitola newspaper office Friday afternoon, authorities reported.

The 911 call came in just before 2:40 p.m. Friday. Medics and police rushed to the office, in a shopping center at 831 Bay Ave., near Hill Avenue.

Initial reports said the man was at the Mid County Post. Later, he was at the Pacific Orthopedics office two doors down, according to emergency radio traffic. That's where emergency crews went to help him.

A staff member at the newspaper said the man didn't go in the front door. Rather, someone at the Post saw him outside and called in the incident.

A medical helicopter was called to fly the man to an out-of-county trauma center.
