Support Food Bank at New Leaf During November!

New Leaf will donate 1 pound of Smart Chicken® to Second Harvest Food Bank of SC County for every 10 pounds purchased during November.

Here’s an easy and smart way to help provide nutritious food for people in need this holiday season: participate in New Leaf Community Markets' Smart Giving Program. Throughout the month of November, for every 10 pounds of Smart Chicken® purchased at New Leaf, New Leaf and Smart Chicken’s producer will donate one pound of nutritious poultry to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County. You can participate by purchasing air-chilled Smart Chicken at New Leaf stores in Santa Cruz and Capitola through November.

10 tons have been donated by New Leaf with the help of their customers since 2006. Willy Elliott-McCrea, Second Harvest CEO said of New Leaf: “They continue to amaze us with their generosity and on-going support. Their commitment to the food bank and other local organizations is outstanding.” According to Elliott-McCrea, meat is the most expensive item for the food bank to purchase and highly valued by its clients and 200 member agencies and programs. MBA Poultry is dedicated to producing the safest, highest quality, and best tasting fresh chicken in the United States.
