Barking Lot Party to benefit Animal Shelter

Come to Barking Lot Party for a fun, free event to benefit the animal shelter. Sat. Sept. 29 at the Westside New Leaf parking lot from noon to 3 pm.

Calling all pet lovers!  Bring the family to a fun, FREE event to raise funds for the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 12 pm to 3 pm. 

Meet adoptable pets, get pet health questions answered by Dr. Logothetti of Westside Animal Hospital. Enter your pet in a contest for Cutest, Oldest, Best Dressed, and Most Unique. Pet photography, greeting cards, and discounted photo sessions by Positive Vista Photography & Art will be offered for sale. Plus free pet food samples, raffle, and tasty $2 hot dogs and veggie dogs for humans.

This benefit will take place in the parking lot of the Westside New Leaf Community Markets, at 1101 Fair Ave, Santa Cruz. For more information visit www.newleaf.com.

Statistics for Calendar Year 2011
Intake:  5,670 animals
Animals Adopted:   1,928
Animals transferred to another shelter:  1,412
Animals returned to owner:  944
 
As of September 13, 2012:
Animals currently available for adoption :  132 on-site;  36 in Foster homes
Animals currently in foster homes:  105
Animals signed up for our low-cost spay and neuter program:  906
