What Should Go Here: 41st Avenue and Soquel Drive

What should fill this current eye sore?

From to and , 41st Avenue is lined with business after business.

Many as economical woes continue. But that hasn't stopped some development from moving forward.

At the very end of 41st, where Soquel Drive crosses perpendicularly, sits a lot that is primed for development. Currently nothing worth a second glance with junked cars and overgrown weeds, the lot is set to be built upon by Bei Scott Properties with retail space available.

What would you like to see go in that spot? What do Capitola and Soquel absolutely need that they don't currently have? Last week, readers suggested Old Navy, Lane Bryant and an Apple Store for the . Tell us what you think in the comments!

How about a place like "High Hand Gallery" in Loomis, Ca - Full service nursery with yard adornment, furniture, art gallery, gift shop, restaurant/deli/coffee.

There's a nicely done architectural sign there that makes it appear there will be a very modern shopping mall there. Is that just speculation, or did the would-be developer drop out?

Since there are enough pizza places, and a great craft store, as well as electronics, grocery and fast food places in that area, your idea has great merit. It would be different, and may just be the anchor to draw enough people to that corner.

We need a good vacuum sales and repair shop, as was there before.

How about a gym that DOESN'T focus on pushing classes and fad training regimens. Basic treadmills, recumbent bikes, ellipticals, etc. Somewhere to go and burn off some pounds with minimal supervision rather than a place for personal trainers to troll for new clients.
