VOTE: Should Dogs Be Allowed on Capitola Beach?

Would you like to see more pets in the sand in 2012?

Last week when , he said he would like to revisit the idea of allowing dogs on Capitola Beach.

His vision for the reworked regulation would be to allow dogs on the beach until 10 a.m., when locals and tourists start making their way to the sand. Pets would then no longer be allowed past the seawall from late morning throughout the day. 

Aside from just timing, there are other issues to be worked out as well, including on-leash versus off-leash regulations and the need for waste bag stations.

Termini is sure there is demand for a dog beach in Capitola, as he said, "there are as many dogs in Capitola as there are registered voters," but finding support for the idea in city hall could be a completely different obstacle.
