VOTE: Disc Golf Course in Soquel?

There are plans in motion for a new course at Anna Jean Cummings Park. What do you think?

Current and former Soquel High students are in the planning phase of a new nine-hole disc golf course at , also called .

While there is plenty of support for the idea from within the school, neighbors of the park have come out against it, particularly those who enjoy walking their dogs on the trails.

The course, while in support of an ever-growing sport, also poses a potential risk to motorists, and could transform the culture of the park. On the other hand, it provides an all-ages activity that is otherwise unavailable in town (the closest and Santa Cruz).

So what do you think? Do you support the idea of a new disc golf course? Vote in the poll below and tell us in the comments!

I think it's a great, healthy outdoor sport and would love to see one here. I've rarely been on a course that dogs couldn't be on. It's totally do-able to allow both. Bang the chains, Soquel High!

K.Parker It is a great sport but totally incompatible with present usage of that area. Just look at other courses like Delaveaga...you can't walk or run "through" the course and the landscape is degraded. The hill now is a quiet gem in the middle of Soquel Valley.

Soquel high has acres of land and room for a 9 hole course. Before the kids hijack a beautiful well used park they should use their design skills to integrate the baskets at the school. There are safe interesting and out of the way places. Check out or google soquel high or better yet take a walk there annd see for yourself.
