David H. Millang: Lived in Aptos and grew up Capitola. He was married for 68 years, served in the Korean War, worked in insurance and had seven great-grandchildren. Passed away Jan. 11. He was 90.
Roy C. Pendley: Resident of Capitola. He was born in Alabama and loved racing cars. Passed away Jan. 23. He was 76.
Hjordis Sofie Quitzau: Resident of Soquel. She was raised in Denmark and loved the Capitola Senior Center. Passed away Jan. 9. She was 79.
Juanita Ramirez: Resident of Capitola. She was born in Texas and was a gifted gardener. Passed away Jan. 9. She was 77.
Hazel Viola Santos: Former resident of Capitola. She was a taxi driver in Capitola in the 1960s. She was 91.
Regina Ann Gray: Resident of Soquel. She went to San Jose State and was devoted to her church. Passed away Jan. 3. She was 64.
William S. Hay: Resident of Soquel. He was a marine in the 1940s and ran for county supervisor at 84. Passed away Jan. 11. He was 89.
Robert N. Heppe: Resident of Soquel. He was stationed in Germany in the Army and was later an elementary school teacher. Passed away Jan. 18. He was 77.
Gregory Melendy: Resident of Soquel. Graduated from Soquel High School in 2005 and died of leukemia on Jan. 21. He was just 25.
Lorene M. Putney: Resident of Soquel. Passed away Jan. 13. She was 99.
Loretta Dolores Szychowski: Resident of Soquel. She was a military wife for 18 years and worked for the post office in Soquel for 23 years. Passed away Jan. 23. She was 83.
