Welcome to Paradise—Retired to Capitola

After working for 40 years in sales in Silicon Valley, I recently retired to Capitola, the lost land of my dreams. I have been retired a month now and I feel like I have discovered Paradise....blushing, beautiful flowers of new and unusual varieties, chirping of birds, trees of all different shapes and sizes all mingled together with the fresh, sea air....so different from the congested traffic and ongoing frenetic stress from "The Valley."

I realize I am living in a village now. No need for driving. I can walk everywhere from the produce stand, bank, post office, , . The people are friendly and everyone is in a good mood. I don't see people glued to their wireless devices and have even found it challenging to find wifi in Capitola. 

Beginning a new chapter in my book of life at this stage feels exhilarating. So much freedom and so much to choose. First things first, got my card and now feel like a real resident. Just signed up for a summer workshop of writing in August.

For now, life feels nourishing...just gardening, taking long, lazy walks with my dog, Stanley and reading.
