Steve Kritzer and Michael Gaither at The Ugly Mug
Bay Area entertainer Steve Kritzer is a "man of many musics," equally comfortable with folk, Celtic, bluegrass and rock, as well as country, pop and big band swing. He's an in-demand backup musician and vocalist on mandolin, guitar, banjo, ukulele and harmonies. Steve has four CDs of original songs under his belt - his latest is "Keeper of the Stones" - and he has a new one in the works.
A storyteller as much as a songwriter, Michael Gaither was raised on the Central Coast and takes the "write what you know" idea to heart, wrapping songs around small-town life with humorous takes on everyday stuff. His newest - and third - CD, "Starlite Drive-In Saturday Night", was a featured release on KPIG's "Fresh Pork Chops" and has received international airplay.
In concert, Steve and Michael perform both solo and mini-"round robin" sets, telling stories behind their own songs, collaborating with a variety of instruments and sharing the songs they've written together.
