Santa Cruz County Friday Night Live Youth Leadership Training
Santa Cruz County- Santa Cruz County Friday Night Live Partnership will host a free Youth Leadership training Saturday, February 9th, 2013 from 9:45 am to 4:00 pm at G.H.W.R Youth Center in Watsonville. Middle Schools and High School age youth will have an opportunity to meet others with similar interests, gain important leadership and public speaking skills, learn about youth adult partnerships and current civic engagement and community service opportunities.
Santa Cruz County Friday Night Live youth focus on youth drug and alcohol awareness and prevention, as well as safe driving practices. Students throughout the county will come together and discuss important issues in their community, and how to make real and lasting changes that address the root causes. This training and other Friday Night Live activities will help prepare youth for future challenges and leadership opportunities.
The training will take place at the G.H.W.R Youth Center in Watsonville, 30 Maple Avenue, from 9:45 am to 4:00 pm. Youth will participate in team and skill building exercises with experts from the California Friday Night Live Partnership and Toastmasters. Lunch, snacks and transportation for youth outside of the Watsonville area will be provided. Youth can use the training to fulfill community service hours.
