Week in Review: Bomb Threat and Homicide Updates

It was a big week for crime news in and around Capitola-Soquel, with updates coming on the Dec. 11 homicide.

On Monday, Assistant District Attorney Celia Rowland told Patch that accused killer Marcos Chavez and victim Ronald "Aaron" Carpenter had . Both men served in the military.

Marcos Chavez , where his arraignment was deferred until Jan. 5 and his bail was increased to $1 million. At his appearance, Rowland said that Chavez and Carpenter had been out to dinner together the night of the homicide, and that it was yet to be determined how much alcohol had been consumed by the two.
